Technical Content Creator – Full-time; Remote – Canada

Location: Remote in Canada

Reports to: VP, Product Innovation

Schedule / Shift: Monday – Friday; EST Day Hours; 37.5 hours per week

Job Overview

As a member of the Product Development team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality technical content, such as user documentation, software design documentation, instructional videos, technical blogs, and other content in support of our software products that ensure equitable access to digital, document, and printed information for people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Create clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including user guides, manuals, online help, and FAQs.
  • Develop and produce how-to videos and product demo videos that effectively communicate product features.
  • Write engaging and informative technical blogs that showcase our products and provide valuable information to our audience.
  • Assist software development teams in producing internal technical documentation.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all technical content.
  • Organize and manage a repository of technical content, ensuring easy access and retrieval for team members and users.
  • Work closely with Support, Training, Development, Marketing and other teams to ensure technical content aligns with overall communication strategies and customer needs.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in technical writing and content creation in the software development field.
  • Experience with video production, including scripting, recording, editing, and publishing.
  • Proficiency in creating various types of technical content, such as user guides, white papers, diagrams, infographics, blog posts, etc.
  • Knowledge of content creation tools, such as text processing tools, video editing software, and graphic design software.
  • Experience with print and digital accessibility is a plus.
  • Relevant technical content creation certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Must be located in Canada, and be authorized to work for any employer within Canada.

Remote Requirements

  • Working space must be professional / business appropriate, free of distractions and safely maintained (as to meet safe working conditions followed on company premises).
  • A fast, stable / uninterrupted internet connection.

Physical Demands

  • Mostly sedentary, and prolonged periods of sitting and looking at a monitor screen
